at Akron Haynes Lancaster Open

Freshman Katherine Dortmund (Westerville/Columbus St. Francis DeSales) posted Ohio Wesleyan's best individual finish as the Bishops opened the 2025 season at the Haynes Lancaster Open, hosted by the University of Akron on Friday in Akron.

The meet was not scored.

Dortmund finished fifth in the 60-meter hurdles in :08.99 and added a ninth-place finish in the 60-meter dash.

Other standouts for the Bishops included freshman Abrianna Hite (Delaware/Hayes), who was ninth in the 400-meter dash; freshman Jera Hoy (Radnor/Buckeye Valley), who placed ninth in the shot put; and sophomore Amarah McPhaul (Muncie, Ind./Daleville), who finished 10th in the high jump.
