7th of 11 (college teams) at Wittenberg
Sophomore Ryan Tripp (Sunbury/Big Walnut) posted Ohio Wesleyan's best individual finish at the Wittenberg Invitational, hosted by Wittenberg University on Saturday in Springfield.
Cedarville won the meet with 73 points to 64½ for Ohio Northern. Among collegiate teams, Ohio Dominican finished third with 36 points, followed by Centre (26), Wright State (22), DePauw (21½), Ohio Wesleyan (18), Berea and Wittenberg (14), Manchester (12), and Transylvania (4).
Tripp finished third in the long jump with a mark of 22¾ and added a fifth-place finish in the high jump.
Other standouts for the Bishops included freshman Dylan Harper (Marysville), who placed fourth in the 60-meter hurdles; junior Wes Horton (Columbus/Thomas Worthington), who finished fourth in the 800-meter run; freshman Jayson Dyer (Kenton), who was sixth in the 500-meter run; freshman Connor Smith (Marysville), who finished sixth in the long jump; and junior Thurman Hou (Temple City, Calif./La Salle Collegiate Preparatory), who placed seventh in the 500-meter run.
