Senior catcher Tyler Monaco (Centerville/South Mecklenburg (N.C.)) drove in a run to put Ohio Wesleyan on the scoreboard, but Otterbein erupted for 9 runs in the eighth inning to break open a non-conference game on Sunday in Fort Myers, Fla.

The Cardinals took a 3-0 lead in the top of the second as Gavin Wolf, Logan Ullom, and Caden Kirker knocked in runs.

The Bishops answered with a run in the bottom of the inning, with sophomore outfielder Jack Bates (Westerville/South) reaching on a 2-out error by Cardinal second baseman Noah Sprowls, freshman third baseman Luke Johnson (Cincinnati/Batavia West Clermont) drawing a walk, and Monaco following with a run-scoring single.

Otterbein tallied 9 times in the top of the eighth, highlighted by a 2-run double by Gavin Thompson and a 2-run single by Haruki Tada.
