Ohio Wesleyan 4, Wisconsin-Lutheran 3

Senior outfielder Ryan Stefancin (Cleveland/North Ridgeville) singled in the go-ahead run in the top of the ninth inning and Ohio Wesleyan went on to a non-conference win over Wisconsin Lutheran on Thursday in Fort Myers, Fla.

Sophomore first baseman Zane Vitense (Maple Grove, Minn.) drew a one-out walk in the top of the ninth and advanced to second on an infield out off the bat of sophomore outfielder Colton Moone (South Vienna/Northeastern).  After an intentional walk to sophomore catcher Alex Snyder (Massillon/Jackson), Stefancin singled to center to score Vitense with the go-ahead run.

Sophomore righthander Mikey Olivieri (Jackson Township/Jackson) retired the Warriors in the bottom of the ninth to record his third save of the season and cap an afternoon of 6.0 scoreless innings turned in by the Bishop bullpen.  Senior righthander Jason Monos (Amherst/Steele), who had pitched the seventh and eighth frames, was credited with the win.

Senior outfielder Edrick Padilla (Salinas, P.R./Perkiomen (Pa.) School) smashed a 2-run double to stake the Bishops to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first, but Wisconsin Lutheran answered with an RBI single by Foster Engelhardt and a sacrifice fly by Tim Frerking in the bottom of the inning, then took the lead when Eli Michaelis scored on a passed ball in the second.

Junior second baseman Ryan Duckworth (Hilliard/Bradley) led off the top of the fourth with a triple and scored on Padilla's infield out to knot the game at 3.

Padilla went 2-for-4 with 3 RBI on the day.
