Ohio Wesleyan University senior Kasey Schipfer (Mechanicsburg) was voted to the D3hoops.com All-America women's basketball teams, it was announced today.
Schipfer, a guard, was a third-team All-America selection. Earlier this week, Schipfer was named the Region 7 Player of the Year and was a first-team all-region selection, the second consecutive first-team all-region citation for the Bishop standout.
Schipfer led the North Coast Athletic Conference and ranks 21st in NCAA Division III in scoring (20.0 points/game), led the NCAC and ranks eighth in Division III in points (601), ranked fifth in the NCAC in rebounding (7.8/game), ranked second in the NCAC in rebounds (235), ranked fourth in the NCAC and 49th in NCAA Division III in field goal percentage (51.7), led the NCAC and ranks 11th in NCAA Division III in field goals (217), led the NCAC and ranks eighth in NCAA Division III in free throw percentage (87.7), led the NCAC and ranks third in NCAA Division III in free throws (164), ranked 13th in the NCAC in assists (61), ranked 15th in the NCAC in assists per game (2.0), led the NCAC and is tied for 15th in NCAA Division III in steals (91), and led the NCAC and is tied for 34th in NCAA Division III in steals per game (3.0). Schipfer repeated as NCAC Player of the Year and was a first-team all-conference selection this season.
Ohio Wesleyan finished the season with a 23-7 record. The Battling Bishops shared the NCAC championship, finished as runner-up in the NCAC tournament, and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Division III tournament.
