Box Score
Otterbein 9, Ohio Wesleyan 1

Junior second baseman Noah Brazytis (Euclid/Cleveland St. Ignatius) drove in a run to put Ohio Wesleyan on the scoreboard, but Otterbein pulled away for a non-conference win over the Bishops on Friday at Littick Field.

The Cardinals took the lead in the first inning when Brayden Carter led off with a walk, stole second, moved to third on a single by Jamie Perebzak, and scored on the front end of a first-and-third play.  Brayden Quincel singled in a run to help Otterbein take a 3-0 lead in the third.

Ohio Wesleyan filled the sacks in the fourth as junior second baseman Ryan Duckworth (Hilliard/Bradley) led off with a walk and senior first baseman Dillon Ysseldyke (Hilliard/Bradley) followed with a fly ball down the leftfield line that fell for a single despite a valiant effort from Cardinal third baseman Carter.  Duckworth was picked off second base for the first out, but sophomore first baseman Zane Vitense (Maple Grove, Minn.) followed with a single and Ysseldyke stole third to put runners at the corners.  One out later, sophomore catcher Alex Snyder (Massillon/Jackson) walked to fill the bases, and Brazytis drew a walk from reliever Brady Heagen to force home Ysseldyke.

Quincel hit a 2-run homer during Otterbein's 3-run seventh inning and doubled and scored during the Cardinals' 2-run ninth.

Vitense went 3-for-3 for Ohio Wesleyan.  Freshman righthander Jacob Lowery (Lyndhurst/Gilmour Academy) was the starting and losing pitcher for the Bishops.
