Junior attacker Carson Geier (Milford) and freshman attacker Wade Beckstrom (Devon, Pa./Conestoga) had 4 goals apiece in Ohio Wesleyan's 16-4 win over Wittenberg in the North Coast Athletic Conference opener for both teams on Saturday at Selby Stadium.

Sophomore midfielder Garrett Smith (Fishers, Ind./Hamilton Southeastern) kicked off the scoring for the Bishops just under 3 minutes into the game and less than 10 seconds later, sophomore midfielder Noah Citek (Long Beach, Calif./St. John Bosco) added a second to make the score 2-0.  Wittenberg pulled one back with a goal from Holton Boehmer, but it wasn't enough as the Bishops scored 2 more from Geier and junior attacker Spencer Amacher (Blacksburg, Va./Blue Ridge School) to make it 4-1 at the end of the first.

Geier, Beckstrom, and freshman midfielder Henry Ross (Snoqualmie, Wash./Mount Si) scored consecutive man-up goals to open the second quarter, and junior midfielder Brady Hunt (Maineville/Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy) added a score after five minutes.  Beckstrom was able to score 2 more while Amacher got 1 to finish out the second quarter up 11-2.

Junior midfielder Joey Weisman (Powell/Olentangy Liberty) scored to open the third quarter, and the Bishop defense stopped Wittenberg from netting a single goal.  Amacher scored before Geier had back-to-back unassisted goals to close out the third quarter.

Beckstrom was able to get one more goal at the start of the fourth to give the Bishops a 16-2 lead over the Tigers.  Dillon McKeigue scored two for Wittenberg, but after that the final 10 minutes of play went scoreless.  Ohio Wesleyan outshot Wittenberg, 43-35.

Beckstrom led the Bishops with 4 goals and 2 assists, while Geier finished with 4 scores and Amacher had 3 goals and 2 assists.  Senior Paddy Colligan (Greenwich, Conn.) stopped 5 shots during the first 3 quarters and sophomore Will White (Pelham, N.Y./Memorial) made 1 save during the fourth quarter.
