Freshman Lucas Weaver (Galion/Northmor), sophomore Ryan Tripp (Sunbury/Big Walnut), and sophomore Chinedu Melenu (Bowie, Md.) recorded fifth-place finishes for Ohio Wesleyan at the Dr. Jack M. Toms Alumni Invitational, hosted by the University of Lynchburg on Saturday in Lynchburg, Va.

The meet was not scored.

Weaver finished fifth in the 1500-meter run in 4:05.43.

Tripp placed fifth in the high jump, clearing 6-2¾.

Melenu was fifth in the triple jump with a mark of 38-3¾.

Other standouts for the Bishops included junior Trey Theobald (Archbold), who was seventh in the javelin; and junior Thurman Hou (Temple City, Calif./La Salle College Preparatory), who placed eighth in the triple jump.
