Freshman attacker Wade Beckstrom (Devon, Pa./Conestoga) contributed a goal and 2 assists as Ohio Wesleyan opened the game with a 6-1 run, and junior attacker Spencer Amacher (Blacksburg, Va./Blue Ridge School) had 2 goals and an assist during a later 6-0 run as Ohio Wesleyan defeated Oberlin in a North Coast Athletic Conference matchup on Saturday in Oberlin.

Goals by junior midfielder Brady Hunt (Maineville/Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy), sophomore midfielder Garrett Smith (Fishers, Ind./Hamilton Southeastern), and freshman midfielder Henry Ross (Snoqualmie, Wash./Mount Si) gave the Bishops a 3-0 lead, and after Oberlin's Ryan Blasberg put the Yeomen on the scoreboard, the Bishops extended the lead with goals from junior midfielder Joey Weisman (Powell/Olentangy Liberty), junior attacker Carson Geier (Milford), and Beckstrom.

Oberlin rallied to within 7-4 with the help of a pair of Solomon Brennan goals, but Amacher closed out the first-half scoring with a goal, then Ross, Hunt, and Amacher had goals to open the second half.  Hunt and Geier followed with scores as the Bishop lead increased to 13-4 late in the third quarter.

Geier, Hunt, and Ross each finished with 3 goals and an assist.  Beckstrom had 2 goals and 4 assists, and Amacher added 2 goals and 3 assists.  Junior Nathan George (Gainesville, Va./Battlefield) stopped 13 shots during the first 57-plus minutes, and senior Paddy Colligan (Greenwich, Conn.) finished up in the Bishop goal.
