Ohio Wesleyan 14, St. Vincent 3

Junior midfielder Joey Wiseman (Powell/Olentangy Liberty) and freshman attacker Wade Beckstrom (Devon, Pa./Conestoga) scored goals less than a minute apart to kick off a game-opening 6-0 run that started Ohio Wesleyan on its way to a non-conference win over St. Vincent on Wednesday at Selby Stadium.

Wiseman tallied an unassisted goal less than a minute into the game, and 58 seconds later, Beckstrom added a score for a 2-0 Bishop lead.  Junior attacker Carson Geier (Milford) and sophomore attacker Will Siegenthaler (Elmhurst, Ill./York) followed with goals, and freshman midfielder Henry Ross (Snoqualmie, Wash./Mount Si) scored during the final seconds of the first quarter to extend the margin to 5-0.  Junior midfielder Brady Hunt (Maineville/Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy) opened the second-quarter scoring to make it 6-0.

St. Vincent got on the scoreboard with a goal by Justin Wodarek, but Ohio Wesleyan answered with another 6-0 run that saw scores by Wiseman, Ross, Beckstrom, and Siegenthaler to close out the first half, and goals from Geier and Beckstrom to kick off the third quarter.

Beckstrom had 3 goals and an assist, and Ross also posted a hat trick.  Siegenthaler and Wiseman each contributed 2 goals and an assist.  Junior Nathan George (Gainesville, Va./Battlefield) stopped 4 shots during the first half, senior Paddy Colligan (Greenwich, Conn.) had 2 saves during the third quarter, and sophomore Will White (Pelham, N.Y./Memorial), freshman Cam Sims (Bloomfield Hills, Mich./Brother Rice), and freshman Jason Mosher (Hilton, N.Y.) each saw action during the fourth quarter.
