Men's Lacrosse Trounces Terriers, Moves to 7-0 in NCAC

Junior attacker Carson Geier (Milford) and sophomore attacker Xander Craven (Franklinville, N.C./Greensboro Day School) tallied 3 goals apiece during a 15-0 run that broke open a North Coast Athletic Conference win over Hiram on Tuesday in Hiram.

The win kept Ohio Wesleyan in a tie for first place in the NCAC standings at 7-0.

Junior midfielder Brady Hunt (Maineville/Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy) put the Bishops on the scoreboard less than 2 minutes into the contest, and freshman attacker Wade Beckstrom (Devon, Pa./Conestoga) and Geier followed with scores less than a minute apart for a 3-0 Ohio Wesleyan lead.

Brett Johnson scored to bring the hosts within 3-1, but Geier scored just over a minute later, then added another goal just 29 seconds after that.  Sophomore midfielder Noah Citek (Long Beach, Calif./St. John Bosco) won the ensuing face-off and passed to junior midfielder Joey Wiseman (Powell/Olentangy Liberty) for a goal only 3 seconds later.

Geier and Craven closed out the first period with goals, and Craven added 2 more goals during the second quarter as the Ohio Wesleyan lead stretched to 18-1.

Geier led the Bishops with 4 goals, freshman attacker Will Thompson (Charlotte, N.C./Providence Day School) added 3 goals and an assist, and senior midfielder Henry Little (San Diego, Calif./La Jolla Country Day) finished with a goal and 3 assists.  Sophomore Will White (Pelham, N.Y./Memorial) had 1 save during the first 22-plus minutes, freshman Jason Mosher (Hilton, N.Y.) stopped 2 shots in 18-plus minutes in the Bishop crease, and freshman Cam Sims (Bloomfield Hills, Mich./Brother Rice) recorded 5 saves in nearly 20 minutes of action.
