Sophomore midfielder Tiffany Trinh (Dublin/Scioto) scored in the closing minutes of regulation time to put Ohio Wesleyan ahead to stay, and senior midfielder Sophia DelGallo (Braintree, Mass.) scored 5 goals to reach a statistical milestone as Ohio Wesleyan recorded a North Coast Athletic Conference win over Wooster on Wednesday at Selby Stadium.

The win not only kept the Bishops in a tie for first place in the NCAC standings at 5-0, but was Ohio Wesleyan's 13th of the season, breaking the school record set in 1991 and equaled in 2005, 2006, and 2022, as well as the school regular-season victories mark set in 1991 and matched in 2006 and 2022.  The win also was Ohio Wesleyan's eighth in a row, tying the school record set in 1996 and equaled in 2005 and 2022.

Wooster's Kenzie Morris and Lizzie Hardy scored quick back-to-back goals less than a minute apart to give the Fighting Scots an early 2-0 lead.  DelGallo got one back for the Bishops and senior attacker Nicole Klabus (Delaware/Hayes) added a second to tie things up.  The scoring continued with the Fighting Scots notching one more before the Bishops scored 4 straight.  Klabus and DelGallo each notched their second with junior attacker Casey Conklin (Marcellus, N.Y.) and sophomore midfielder Sam Frary (Concord, Calif./Clayton Valley Charter) each scoring one to send the Bishops into the second up, 6-4.

DelGallo and Klabus scored the only goals for the Bishops in the second quarter while Wooster racked up four goals.  The goal from DelGallo was set up by junior attacker Caroline Fleming (Pittsburgh, Pa./South Fayette) at 10:49.  Klabus scored on a free position with 6:52 left on the clock and was the last goal of the half, setting the score even at 8-8.

The Bishops started the second half strong, scoring 3 straight goals, which were the only ones in the third quarter.  DelGallo started the scoring, a goal by Fleming, and a free-position shot from Trinh ran up the Bishops' score to 11-8 with 15 minutes to play.

Wooster tied the game in the final quarter, outscoring the Bishops, 4-1, to tie things up at 12-12 with 5:44 left on the clock.  Free-position shots from Trinh and DelGallo were enough to secure the lead and the win.  The Fighting Scots outshot the Bishops, 10-9, in the fourth, but the Bishops won the overall 35-29 as they went on to victory.

DelGallo led the Bishops with 5 goals, raising her season total to 50.  DelGallo is the seventh Battling Bishop player to reach the 50-goal mark in a season.  Klabus followed with 3 goals, Trinh had 2 goals and 3 assists, and Conklin added 2 goals while Fleming and Frary added one each.  Junior Abby Markowitz (Las Vegas, Nev./Somerset Academy) made 6 saves in the game.
