Fifth-year shortstop D.J. Neff (Grove City) doubled and scored to even the game at 1, but Marietta took the lead in the fifth and went on to a non-conference win over Ohio Wesleyan on Sunday at Littick Field.

The Pioneers took the lead on a bases-loaded walk to Ben Kaplin in the third.

Neff led off the home fourth with a double, moved to third on a ground out off the bat of senior outfielder Edrick Padilla (Salinas, P.R./Perkiomen (Pa.) School), and scored on a Pioneer error.

Marietta tallied twice in the fifth, with Alex Richter hit by a pitch, moving to second on a single by Kaplin, stealing third, and scoring on a throwing error on the play.  Kaplin later scored on a bases-loaded walk to Cole Yeager.  The visitors added 4 runs in the seventh with the help of a 2-run single by Kail Hill.

Padilla crushed a home run to left center in the bottom of the eighth to wrap up the day's scoring.

Neff was 2-for-3 for Ohio Wesleyan.  Senior righthander Alex Casper (Green) was charged with the loss in relief.
