Senior shortstop Rylee Anspach (Dublin/Coffman) delivered a walk-off single in the bottom of the 10th inning to lift Ohio Wesleyan over Wooster in the nightcap of a North Coast Athletic Conference doubleheader on Sunday at Margaret Sagan Field.

In the opener, junior outfielder Avery Panozzo (Denver, Colo./Mullen) doubled in a run to give the Bishops an early lead, but Wooster scored the next 13 runs to take the win.

The Bishops built a 4-0 lead in the nightcap as senior third baseman Alyssa Back (Newark) scored on a fielder's choice in the first inning and Anspach belted an RBI double and freshman outfielder Chameron Vanden Eynden (Goshen) singled in a run during Ohio Wesleyan's 3-run fourth.

Wooster got on the scoreboard on Julia Jenning's RBI single in the fifth, but the Bishops got that run back when Anspach launched a home run down the leftfield line to put Ohio Wesleyan up, 5-1, heading into the seventh.

The Fighting Scots had their first 6 batters reach base in the seventh, collecting 5 hits and a walk to push across 3 runs and still have the bases filled with nobody out.  Sophomore righthander Makenna Knisley (Washington Court House/Washington) retired Brenna Haydu on an infield popup, but Sarah Lodge coaxed a walk to force home Ciara Herbert with the tying run.  Junior righthander Kaelyn Rodriguez (South El Monte, Calif.) came on in relief and induced Ella Wolff to bounce into an inning-ending 1-2-3 double play.

In the bottom of the 10th, senior catcher Sophia Holupka (Hillsboro, Mo.) was placed on second to open the inning and advanced to third on a sacrifice by junior shortstop McKenna Tuttle (Richmond, Ky./Model Laboratory School).  Anspach followed with a single up the middle to drive in Holupka with the winning run.

Anspach was 3-for-5 with 3 RBI, while Vanden Eynden also went 3-for-5 and Tuttle went 2-for-3.  Rodriguez blanked the Fighting Scots on 1 hit over the final 3.2 innings to record the win.

Ohio Wesleyan took an early lead in the opener as Back led off with a walk, moved to second on a sacrifice by Vanden Eynden, and scored on Panozzo's double.

Wooster struck for 6 runs in the second, getting a 2-run double by Lodge and a 2-run single from Jennings.  The visitors added 4 runs in the fourth, with Stephanie Griffin-Sanchez hitting a 2-run homer, and tacked on 3 more in the fifth with the help of an RBI double by Griffin-Sanchez.

Tuttle was 2-for-2 and Panozzo went 2-for-3 for Ohio Wesleyan.  Senior lefthander Katie Chittum (Hebron/Lakewood) was the starting and losing pitcher for the Bishops.
