6th of 9 at NCAC championship
Freshman Michael Strange (High Bridge, N.J./Voorhees) posted Ohio Wesleyan's best individual finish during the second day of the North Coast Athletic Conference championship meet, hosted by Denison University on Saturday in Granville.
Wabash won the meet with 156 points to 144 for Wittenberg. Denison finished third with 135 points, followed by Oberlin (119), DePauw (97), Ohio Wesleyan (60), Wooster (54), Kenyon (45), and Hiram (5).
Strange finished fourth in the 400-meter hurdles in :55.96. Strange also ran on both Ohio Wesleyan relay teams, combining with freshman Alex Stoller (Waverly), sophomore Jake Marzulli (Medina), and junior Mason Myers (Perrysville/Hillsdale) for a fifth-place finish in the 1600-meter relay and teaming with freshman Elias Simpkins (Sergeantsville, N.J./Hunterdon Central Regional), sophomore Joaquim Bila (Westbrook, Maine/North Yarmouth Academy), and senior Dylan Liggett (Medina/Highland) for a sixth-place finish in the 400-meter relay.
Other standouts for the Bishops included sophomore Benjamin Blaumeiser (Kettering/Fairmont), who was fifth in the 1500-meter run and seventh in the 800-meter run; freshman Dylan Harper (Marysville), who finished fifth in the 110-meter hurdles; junior Wes Horton (Columbus/Thomas Worthington), who placed sixth in the 800-meter run; and freshman Connor Smith (Marysville), who was sixth in the high jump.
