Noel Wins NCAC Shot Put Title; Bishops Finish Third

Senior Mila Noel (Delray Beach, Fla./St. John Paul II Academy) won a North Coast Athletic Conference title during the second day of the NCAC championship meet, hosted by Denison University on Saturday in Granville.

Wittenberg won the meet with 192½ points to 184 for DePauw.  Ohio Wesleyan finished in third place with 112 points, followed by Denison (103½), Wooster (93½), Oberlin (89), Kenyon (33), and Hiram (10½).

Noel won the shot put with a throw of 41-6.

All-NCAC honors also went to senior Addystin Lykins (Carey), who finished second in the 400-meter dash and added a sixth-place finish in the 200-meter dash; and freshman Zoe Ward (Columbus/Worthington Christian), who was third in the 1500-meter run and added a fifth-place finish in the 5000-meter run.

Lykins also won all-conference laurels as part of the 400-meter relay team, joining forces with junior Sarah Mazzei (Rocky River), senior Liberty Brock (Zanesville/New Concord John Glenn), and freshman Amarah McPhaul (Muncie, Ind./Daleville) for a third-place finish.

Other standouts for the Bishops included freshman Allison Dietz (Newark), who finished fourth in the 1500-meter run; junior Aliisa James (Miamisburg/Dayton Christian), who placed fourth in the 400-meter hurdles; sophomore McKenna Downing (Pleasant Hill/Newton Local), who was sixth in the 800-meter run; freshman Brianna Montgomery (Gibsonburg), who placed sixth in the 400-meter hurdles; sophomore Coral Pierson (Powell/Olentangy Liberty), who finished seventh in the 100-meter hurdles; junior Katelyn Stapleton (Urbana/West Liberty Salem), who placed eighth in the 800-meter run; freshman Sophie Cotts (Granville), who finished eighth in the 5000-meter run; and sophomore Emma Hall (Ironton), who was eighth in the hammer.

The Bishop 1600-meter relay team of Montgomery, Lykins, junior Ashley Beatty (Delaware/Buckeye Valley), and Stapleton finished fifth.
