Melenu, Sir Louis Win for Men's Track & Field

2nd of 6 at Wooster Invitational

Junior Chinedu Melenu (Bowie, Md.) and freshman Tanner Sir Louis (Wadsworth) won events for Ohio Wesleyan at the Wooster Invitational, hosted by The College of Wooster on Saturday in Wooster.

Wittenberg won the meet with 162½ points to 143½ for Ohio Wesleyan.  Kenyon was third with 75 points, followed by Allegheny (65), Wooster (64), and Oberlin (62).

Melenu won the triple jump with a mark of 41-1.

Sir Louis won the pole vault by clearing 13-11¼.

Other standouts for the Bishops included sophomore Connor Smith (Marysville), who finished second in the high jump and fourth in the 200-meter dash and the long jump; junior Ryan Tripp (Sunbury/Big Walnut), who placed second in the long jump and fifth in the high jump; sophomore Joel Adade (Columbus/Beechcroft), who was second in the 60-meter dash; sophomore Dylan Harper (Marysville), who placed second in the 60-meter hurdles; junior Andrew Bentz (Marysville), who finished third in the shot put and sixth in the weight throw; junior Mack Fincham (Springfield/Kenton Ridge), who was third in the pole vault and tied for sixth in the 60-meter hurdles; freshman Justin Gneiting (Westerville/Big Walnut), who finished third in the 60-meter hurdles; freshman Michael Hess (Painesville/Fairport Harding), who was fourth in the 60-meter hurdles and sixth in the high jump; senior Mason Myers (Perrysville/Hillsdale), who placed fourth in the 400-meter dash; junior Griffin Sawyer (Rocky River), who was fourth in the pole vault; and sophomore Michael Strange (High Bridge, N.J./Voorhees), who finished fifth in the 60-meter hurdles and sixth in the 200-meter dash.
