Dortmund Paces Women's Track & Field

2nd of 6 at Wooster Invitational

Freshman Katherine Dortmund (Westerville/Columbus St. Francis DeSales) won 2 events and helped a relay team to a win to lead Ohio Wesleyan at the Wooster Invitational, hosted by The College of Wooster on Saturday in Wooster.

Wittenberg won the meet with 155 points to 127 for Ohio Wesleyan.  Allegheny was third with 102 points, followed by Kenyon (71), Oberlin (54), and Wooster (51).

Dortmund won the 60-meter dash in :07.89 and the 60-meter hurdles in :09.12.  Dortmund also teamed with freshman Aelyn Baumbarger (Marysville), freshman Yehdeiah Dennis (Columbus/Beechcroft), and freshman Kennedy Elfers (Powell/Olentangy Liberty) to win the 800-meter relay in 1:48.27.

Sophomore Addie Beck (Wadsworth) also won an event for Ohio Wesleyan, taking the pole vault by clearing 10-11¾.

The Bishop distance medley relay team of junior McKenna Downing (Pleasant Hill/Newton Local), sophomore River Hamilton (Sunbury/Big Walnut), junior Alyssa Henry (Warren/Howland), and sophomore Elsa Hoam (Fredericktown) won its event in 13:15.30.

Other standouts for the Bishops included Elfers, who finished second in the 200-meter dash and fourth in the 60-meter dash; Baumbarger, who placed third in the 60-meter dash; junior Claire Coleman (Cincinnati/Ursuline Academy), who was third in the pole vault; freshman Jera Hoy (Radnor/Buckeye Valley), who placed third in the shot put; junior Emma Hall (Ironton), who was third in the weight throw; sophomore Amarah McPhaul (Muncie, Ind./Daleville), who finished fourth in the high jump and sixth in the 60-meter dash; freshman Kali Kohler (Wapakoneta), who placed fourth in the long jump; junior Emily Davis (Brimfield/Mogadore Field), who was fourth in the weight throw; sophomore Alexis Eusey (Marengo/Highland), who finished fifth in the shot put; junior Phoebe Dreschel (Castalia/Margaretta), who placed fifth in the weight throw; Dennis, who was sixth in the 200-meter dash; senior Katelyn Stapleton (Urbana/West Liberty Salem), who placed sixth in the 400-meter dash; and freshman Ava Sartini (Geneva), who finished sixth in the pole vault.
