6th of 15 at Muskingum Meet #2

Sophomore Connor Smith (Marysville) won an event for Ohio Wesleyan at Muskie Meet #2, hosted by Muskingum University on Saturday in New Concord.

Ohio Northern won the meet with 199 points to 86 for Seton Hill.  Otterbein finished third with 82 points, followed by Pitt-Johnstown (69½), Wilmington (68), Ohio Wesleyan (63), Concord and Muskingum (38), Washington & Jefferson (23½), Waynesburg (19), West Virginia club (16), Geneva (7), Franciscan (6), Ohio Christian (5), and Chatham (4).

Smith won the high jump by clearing 6-4.

Other standouts for the Bishops included sophomore Alex Bzdafka (Solon), who was second in the pole vault; sophomore Dylan Harper (Marysville), who placed third in the 60-meter hurdles; junior Jake Marzulli (Medina), who was fourth in the 500-meter run; freshman Tanner Sir Louis (Wadsworth), who placed sixth in the pole vault and eighth in the 500-meter run; freshman Justin Gneiting (Westerville/Big Walnut), who finished sixth in the 60-meter hurdles; junior Chinedu Melenu (Bowie, Md.), who placed sixth in the triple jump; freshman Michael Hess (Painesville/Fairport Harding), who was seventh in the 500-meter run; sophomore Jayson Dyer (Kenton), who finished seventh in the 1000-meter run; senior Mason Myers (Perrysville/Hillsdale), who placed eighth in the 400-meter dash; and sophomore Joel Adade (Columbus/Beechcroft), who was eighth in the 200-meter dash.

The Bishop 800-meter relay team of Adade, junior Ryan Tripp (Sunbury/Big Walnut), Smith, and freshman Logan Lang (Sunbury/Big Walnut) finished second, as did the 1600-meter relay team of Lang, sophomore Michael Strange (High Bridge, N.J./Voorhees), junior Joe Larkins (Cleveland/Ginn Academy), and Marzulli.
