Women's Track & Field Finishes Second at Muskingum

Sophomore Allison Dietz (Newark) won an event to lead Ohio Wesleyan at Muskie Meet #2, hosted by Muskingum University on Saturday in New Concord.

Ohio Northern won the meet with 219 points to 104½ for Ohio Wesleyan.  Seton Hill was third with 62½ points, followed by Ursuline and Otterbein (43), Pitt-Johnstown (38½), Wilmington (35), Muskingum (34), Chatham (29), Ohio Christian (22), Waynesburg (19), Franciscan (17), Concord (15), Washington & Jefferson (13), Geneva (8½), and West Virginia club (6).

Dietz won the mile run in 5:15.76.

Other standouts for the Bishops included freshman Katherine Dortmund (Westerville/Columbus St. Francis DeSales), who was second in the 60-meter dash, finished fifth in the 60-meter hurdles, and tied for fifth in the 200-meter dash; sophomore Zoe Ward (Columbus/Worthington Christian), who placed second in the mile run; sophomore Addie Beck (Wadsworth), who finished second in the pole vault; freshman Aelyn Baumbarger (Marysville), who was third in the 200-meter dash and fourth in the 60-meter dash; junior Claire Coleman (Cincinnati/Ursuline Academy), who was third in the pole vault; senior Eleanor Luttman (Farmington Hills, Mich./Farmington), who was fourth in the 3000-meter run; sophomore Brianna Montgomery (Gibsonburg), who placed fifth in the 400-meter dash and eighth in the mile run; senior Katelyn Stapleton (Urbana/West Liberty Salem), who placed fifth in the 500-meter run; freshman Yehdeiah Dennis (Columbus/Beechcroft), who tied for fifth in the 200-meter dash; sophomore Amarah McPhaul (Muncie, Ind./Daleville), who finished sixth in the 60-meter dash and eighth in the 200-meter dash; freshman Kali Kohler (Wapakoneta), who placed sixth in the long jump; freshman Niyah Shipman (North Robinson/Colonel Crawford), who tied for sixth in the high jump and placed seventh in the long jump; and freshman Tianna Haten (New Orleans, La./Carver), who placed seventh in the 60- and 200-meter dashes.

The Ohio Wesleyan 800-meter relay team of Dortmund, Baumbarger, Dennis, and freshman Kennedy Elfers (Powell/Olentangy Liberty) finished second, while the 1600-meter relay team of Dennis, Stapleton, freshman Abrianna Hite (Delaware/Hayes), and Haten was fourth.
