Three Bishops Place at Jamestown

Senior Tyler Bodovetz (Steetsboro), senior Des Perry (Garnet Valley, Pa.), and senior Brady Walsh (Dublin/Coffman) placed for Ohio Wesleyan at the Jamestown Open, hosted by Jamestown Community College on Sunday in Jamestown, N.Y.

The meet was not scored.

Bodovetz placed second at 174, Perry placed fourth at 184, and Walsh placed fifth at 184.

Bodovetz advanced to the championship match of the 174-pound bracket with a pin of Kyle Press-Stephens of Garrett, a 14-0 major decision over John Koroma of Lackawanna College in the quarterfinals, and an 18-2 technical fall over Niko Kalamaras of John Carroll in the semifinals.  In the championship, Charles Foster of Buffalo won a 13-4 major decision.

After receiving a first-round bye, Perry lost a 15-0 technical fall to Luke Ciampa in the quarterfinals of the championship bracket.  In the consolation bracket, Perry pinned Travis Robinson-Becker of Brockport State, defeated Gaetano Savelli of Gannon by a score of 8-3, and pinned Cameron Beecher of Onondaga Community College in the semifinals.  In the third-place match, Perry lost a 16-1 technical fall to Kyle Keefe of Jamestown Community College.

Walsh opened the day with an 8-5 decision over Savelli, then fell to Bear Horgan of John Carroll in the quarterfinals.  In the consolation bracket, Walsh pinned Oliver Skoczen of John Carroll and Chris Herriman to move into the semifinals, where he fell to Keefe.  In the fifth-place match, Walsh recorded a 4-1 decision over Beecher.
