Harper Wins for Men's Track & Field

3rd of 5 at Baldwin Wallace Dr. Taraschke Team Challenge

Sophomore Dylan Harper (Marysville) won an event to lead Ohio Wesleyan at the Dr. Taraschke Team Challenge, hosted by Baldwin Wallace University on Saturday in Berea.

Baldwin Wallace won the meet with 149 points to 79 for Case Reserve.  Ohio Wesleyan finished third with 46 points, followed by Allegheny (38) and Oberlin (26).

Harper won the 55-meter hurdles in :07.79 and added a sixth-place finish in the 400-meter dash.

Sophomore Connor Smith (Marysville) finished second in the high jump with a mark of 6-9.  Smith's performance is tied for seventh in Division III this season, according to head coach Kris Boey.

Other standouts for the Bishops included sophomore Joel Adade (Columbus/Beechcroft), who was third in the 55-meter dash and fourth in the 200-meter dash; senior Mason Myers (Perrysville/Hillsdale), who placed third in the 400-meter dash and sixth in the 200-meter dash; junior Ryan Tripp (Sunbury/Big Walnut), who was third in the long jump; junior Chinedu Melenu (Bowie, Md.), who placed fourth in the triple jump; freshman Justin Gneiting (Westerville/Big Walnut), who finished fourth in the 55-meter hurdles; freshman Nate Snead (Sunbury/Big Walnut), who was fourth in the 55-meter dash; and freshman Chris Evans (Lewis Center/Olentangy Berlin), who placed fifth in the 55-meter dash.

The Bishop 800-meter relay team of Adade, junior Joe Larkins (Cleveland/Ginn Academy), Smith, and freshman Logan Lang (Sunbury/Big Walnut) finished second.
