Bodovetz, Kaminski Place at Wabash

Senior Tyler Bodovetz (Steetsboro) and senior Geoffrey Kaminski (Lewis Center/Olentangy Orange) placed for Ohio Wesleyan at the Wabash College Open, hosted by Wabash College on Saturday in Crawfordsville, Ind.

The meet was not scored.

Bodovetz placed third at 174 and Kaminski placed third at 197.

After receiving a first-round bye, Bodovetz advanced to the semifinals with a pin of Quintez Pratt of Wilmington and a 13-4 major decision over Noah Clouser of Indianapolis.  In the semis, Bodovetz lost a 10-2 major decision to Magnus Kuokkanen of Indiana, but bounced back to record a 20-5 technical fall over Elorm Nevis of Wabash in the consolation semifinals.  In a rematch against Clouser in the third-place match, Bodovetz again emerged triumphant, this time taking a 4-1 decision.

Kaminski opened the day by winning a 9-4 decision over Hadyn Ball of Wabash in the quarterfinals.  In the semifinals, Kaminski fell to Armen Koltookian of Indianapolis.  Kaminski then won the third-place match by default when Ryder Pierce of Wilmington was injured and unable to continue.

At 174 pounds, sophomore Andrew Mushkin (Phoenix, Ariz./Corona del Sol) advanced to the quarterfinals of the championship bracket with a pin of Wilmington's Cailub Solis.
