Dortmund Wins Twice at Baldwin Wallace

3rd of 5 at Baldwin Wallace Dr. Taraschke Team Challenge

Freshman Katherine Dortmund (Westerville/Columbus St. Francis DeSales) won 2 events to lead Ohio Wesleyan at the Dr. Taraschke Team Challenge, hosted by Baldwin Wallace University on Saturday in Berea.

Allegheny won the meet with 87 points to 77 for Baldwin Wallace.  Case Reserve was third with 73 points, followed by Ohio Wesleyan (48) and Oberlin (40).

Dortmund won the 55-meter dash in :07.30 and the 200-meter dash in :26.51, and added a second in the 55-meter hurdles.  Dortmund also teamed with freshman Aelyn Baumbarger (Marysville), freshman Yehdeiah Dennis (Columbus/Beechcroft), and freshman Kennedy Elfers (Powell/Olentangy Liberty) for a second-place finish in the 800-meter relay.

Other standouts for the Bishops included Baumbarger, who was second in the 55-meter dash and third in the 200-meter dash; Elfers, who finished second in the 200-meter dash and fourth in the 55-meter dash; freshman Niyah Shipman (North Robinson/Colonel Crawford), who placed second in the high jump and fifth in the long jump; sophomore Amarah McPhaul (Muncie, Ind./Daleville), who finished third in the high jump; freshman Kali Kohler (Wapakoneta), who placed fourth in the high jump; Dennis, who finished fourth in the 200-meter dash; sophomore Charlotte Bynum (Grafton/Midview), who was fifth in the 400-meter dash; and freshman Tianna Haten (New Orleans, La./Carver), who placed sixth in the 400-meter dash.
