Schipfer Tabbed to D3hoops.com Team of Week

Ohio Wesleyan University fifth-year guard Kasey Schipfer (Mechanicsburg) was selected to the D3hoops.com Team of the Week for the week of Feb. 10, it was announced by D3hoops.com.

The D3hoops.com Team of the Week recognizes 5 NCAA Division III men's players and 5 women's players from around the nation each week.

Schipfer sank a pair of free throws and a lay-in during an 8-0 burst that closed out the first quarter and extended a 14-10 lead into a 22-10 margin in Ohio Wesleyan's 91-55 win at Hiram on Wednesday.  Schipfer added 9 points during an 18-2 run to open second half, extending the Bishops' 41-30 halftime lead and sealing the outcome.  Schipfer matched a career best with 34 points, going 14-for-22 from the field and 6-for-8 from the line, and contributed 4 rebounds and 3 assists.  Schipfer then tallied 13 points during the fourth period alone as the Bishops closed out a 69-56 NCAC win at Wittenberg on Saturday.  The team-high 27 points raised Schipfer's career total to 2012 and made Schipfer the second Ohio Wesleyan player and the third in NCAC history to surpass the 2000-point mark.  Schipfer was 3-for-5 from the free throw line on the day, with the 5 attempts raising her career total to 597, breaking the school record of 592 set by Jill Myers from 1984-88.  Schipfer was 11-for-17 from the field, including 2-for-2 from 3-point range, grabbed 7 rebounds, and dished out 3 assists.  On the week, Schipfer averaged 30.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game, shooting 25-for-39 from the field (64.1 percent), 2-for-3 from downtown (66.7 percent), and 9-for-13 from line (69.2 percent).  Schipfer leads the NCAC in scoring (19.0 points/game) and ranks fifth in rebounding (6.9/game).
