Men's Swimming Tied for Sixth After First Day of NCAC Championship

Junior Graham Mayberry (Urbandale, Iowa/Granville (Ohio)), sophomore Ian Sander (Pemberville/Eastwood), and sophomore Nathan Ambler (Columbus/Worthington Kilbourne) competed on a pair of relay teams for Ohio Wesleyan during the first day of the North Coast Athletic Conference championship meet, hosted by Denison University on Wednesday in Granville.

Denison was leading the meet with 140 points to 124 for Kenyon.  Oberlin was in third place with 118 points, followed by Wabash (116), Wooster (110), Ohio Wesleyan and Hiram (104), Wittenberg (98), and DePauw (58).

The Bishop triumverate added freshman Henry Gaudet (Littleton, Colo./Heritage) in a seventh-place finish in the 200 medley relay in 1:36.48 and combined with sophomore C.J. Abahazi (Delaware/Hayes) to finish seventh in the 800 freestyle relay in 7:10.53.

The NCAC championship meet continues on Thursday, with preliminaries scheduled for 9:30 a.m. and finals scheduled for 6 p.m.
