Mayberry, Sander Lead Men's Swimming During Second Day of NCAC Meet

Sophomore Ian Sander (Pemberville/Eastwood) and junior Graham Mayberry (Urbandale, Iowa/Granville (Ohio)) posted Ohio Wesleyan's best individual finishes during the second day of the North Coast Athletic Conference championship meet, hosted by Denison University on Thursday in Granville.

Denison was leading the meet with 716 points to 565 for Kenyon.  Wabash was in third place with 416 points, followed by Wooster (325), Oberlin (324), DePauw (282½), Hiram (182½), Ohio Wesleyan (169), and Wittenberg (156).

Sander finished 23rd in the 200 IM in 2:00.84.

Mayberry placed 23rd in the 50 freestyle in :22.04.

Other standouts for the Bishops included freshman Henry Gaudet (Littleton, Colo./Heritage), who was 25th in the 50 freestyle in :22.26.  Gaudet also combined with senior Chevy Kosek (Cleveland/Brecksville-Broadview Heights), sophomore C.J. Abahazi (Delaware/Hayes), and sophomore Alex Tovtyn (Allenstown, N.H./Pinkerton Academy) for a seventh-place finish in the 400 medley relay in 3:45.33.

The NCAC championship meet continues on Friday, with preliminaries scheduled for 9:30 a.m. and finals scheduled for 6 p.m.
