Senior attacker Casey Conklin (Marcellus, N.Y.) scored 5 goals for Ohio Wesleyan as the Bishops rallied past Allegheny to start the season on Saturday at Selby Stadium.

After going down a goal in the opening minute, the Bishops came back to score 7 straight in the first quarter.  Sophomore attacker Brie Colangelo (Providence, R.I./Moses Brown School), senior attacker Caroline Fleming (Pittsburgh, Pa./South Fayette) and Conklin scored two apiece and junior defender Abbie Grogan (Louisville, Ky./Kentucky Country Day) added another.

Conklin kicked off the second quarter with back-to-back goals in the 14th and 12th minutes before Fleming added her third in the 11th.  Three more Bishops added to the tally with freshman attacker Jackie Harper (Henderson, Nev./Coronado) scoring her first and second collegiate goals.  Junior attacker Sam Frary (Concord, Calif. Clayton Valley Charter) and senior attacker-midfielder Amara Carlson (Dublin/Coffman) each scored one to give the Bishops a 14-4 lead going into halftime.

Allegheny got one back to start the second half but Fleming and Conklin quickly retaliated with a goal each, 2 minutes apart. Frary rounded out the third with her second goal off a free position shot.

Freshman attacker Dalaney Vaughn (Pittsburgh, Pa./Shaler Area) notched her first collegiate goal and Carlson finished out the scoring with three minutes in the clock to bring the Bishops to a 19-5 lead.

The Bishops outshot the Gators, 30-8, and won 15 draw controls.

Conklin led with 5 goals.  Fleming added 4 goals and 2 assists.  Colangelo collected 2 goals and 5 assists.  Senior goalkeeper Abby Markowitz (Las Vegas, Nev./Somerset Academy) made 2 saves in goal before splitting with sophomore goalkeeper Grace Lilly (Granville).
