Dortmund Wins Twice for Women's Track & Field

Freshman Katherine Dortmund (Westerville/Columbus St. Francis DeSales) won 2 events for Ohio Wesleyan at the Kenyon Tune-Up, hosted by Kenyon College on Friday in Gambier.

The meet, which included Ohio Wesleyan and Wooster in addition to Kenyon, was not scored.


Dortmund won the 60-meter dash and the 60-meter hurdles in respective times of :07.94 and :09.11.

Also winning events for Ohio Wesleyan were freshman Aelyn Baumbarger (Marysville), who won the 200-meter dash in :26.48 and finished second in the 60-meter dash; freshman Kennedy Elfers (Powell/Olentangy Liberty), who won the 400-meter dash in 1:02.89 and placed second in the 200-meter dash; freshman Niyah Shipman (North Robinson/Colonel Crawford), who won the long jump with a leap of 16-6 and finished second in the high jump; freshman Elena Katsinou (Thessaloniki, Greece/Anatolia), who won the triple jump with a mark of 31-5¼ and was third in the long jump; and junior Claire Coleman (Cincinnati/Ursuline Academy), who won the pole vault by clearing 11-2¼.

Other standouts for the Bishops included sophomore Addie Beck (Wadsworth), who finished second in the pole vault; junior Emma Hall (Ironton), who placed second in the weight throw; senior Katelyn Stapleton (Urbana/West Liberty Salem), who was third in the 400-meter dash; freshman Tianna Haten (New Orleans, La./Carver), who finished third in the 200-meter dash; freshman Yehdeiah Dennis (Columbus/Beechcroft), who placed third in the high jump; and freshman Jera Hoy (Radnor/Buckeye Valley), who was third in the shot put.
