Fifth-year guard Kasey Schipfer (Mechanicsburg) posted 32 points and fifth-year point guard Elizabeth Homan (Cincinnati/Anderson) reached a career milestone as 14th-ranked Ohio Wesleyan downed Denison in a North Coast Athletic Conference matchup on Saturday at Branch Rickey Arena.

With the win, the Bishops completed a perfect 14-0 regular-season conference run, marking the first time that Ohio Wesleyan has completed an undefeated conference season.  The win also was the Bishops' 16th in a row, breaking the school record of 15 set during the 1978-79 season.

As the top seed in next week's NCAC tournament, Ohio Wesleyan will receive a first-round bye and will face the winner of Tuesday's Wittenberg vs. Oberlin quarterfinal in a semifinal contest at 5 p.m. on Friday at Branch Rickey Arena.

Schipfer kicked off the scoring with a quick layup in the paint.  Denison tied things up at 3 before the teams traded the lead several times.  Fifth-year guard Lauren Denison (Pataskala/Watkins Memorial) sank a 3-pointer to help the Bishops take over but a 3-pointer by Adelyn Moore and a pair of layups gave the Big Red the lead again.  A 5-0 run with a jumper from Schipfer and a 3-pointer from Denison gave the lead back to Ohio Wesleyan and ended the first quarter at 23-17 in favor of the Bishops.

Ohio Wesleyan ran away with the game late in the second quarter, going on a 10-0 run.  Schipfer collected 3 layups and a free throw while sophomore post Macy Miller (Marysville/Milford Center Fairbanks) added 2 jumpers, and senior guard Maddie Schumacher (Tiffin/Calvert) sank a free throw.

Schipfer scored 9 straight points to open the third quarter and increase the Bishops' lead to 22.  Junior guard Mia Guscoff (Canton/Massillon Perry), senior post Karlee Ross (Beverly/Fort Frye), and Miller each posted a layup.

With less than 5 minutes to go, Denison had a 9-0 run to try to catch the Bishops.  The teams traded free throws with Ross and senior guard Alayna McMullen (Canton/Massillon Jackson) scoring a pair each for the Bishops and Adelyn Moore scoring for the Big Red.

Schipfer led the Bishops with 32 points.  Miller followed with 18 while Ross added 7.  Denison and Guscoff both tallied 6.

Homan finished with 8 assists.  The 8 assists raised Homan's career total to 681, moving Homan into 10th place on the all-time NCAA Division III list.
