at NCAA Division III Central Regional

Senior Tyler Bodovetz (Streetsboro) advanced to the semifinals of the championship bracket to lead Ohio Wesleyan during the first day of the NCAA Division III Central Regional tournament, hosted by Wabash College on Friday in Crawfordsville, Ind.

North Central was leading the tournament with 99 points to 91½ for Wisconsin-Whitewater.  Millikin was in third place with 71½ points, followed by Olivet (69½), Wabash (61), Chicago (58), Adrian (54), John Carroll (43½), and Albion (42).  Manchester rounded out the top 10 teams with a total of 41 points, followed by Wheaton (28½), Elmhurst (26), Case Reserve (25), Alma (20½), Trine (15), Ohio Wesleyan (10), and Mount St. Joseph (7½).

Bodovetz began the day with a 9-0 major decision over Chase Crutchley of Case Reserve, then moved into the semifinals with an 8-0 major decision over Tyler Joseph of Chicago.  Bodovetz is scheduled to start Saturday by facing Javen Estrada of North Central in a semifinal matchup.

The top 3 finishers in each weight class at the NCAA Division III Central Regional tournament will advance to the NCAA Division III championship meet, scheduled for March 14-15 in Providence, R.I.
