Junior Emma Hall (Ironton) won All-North Coast Athletic Conference honors and freshman Katherine Dortmund (Westerville/Columbus St. Francis DeSales) set a school record for Ohio Wesleyan during the first day of the NCAC championship meet, hosted by Oberlin College on Friday in Oberlin.

DePauw was leading the meet with 69 points to 62 for Wittenberg.  Denison was in third place with 27 points, followed by Ohio Wesleyan (25), Kenyon (19), Wooster (14), and Oberlin and Hiram (9).

Hall finished second in the weight throw with a mark of 45-7¼.

Dortmund won her heat in the 60-meter dash in :07.76.  The performance not only was the best of the day, but broke the school record of :07.81 set by Amanda Clay in 2017.  Dortmund also won her heat in the 60-meter hurdles in :08.80, equaling the best time of the day, and made the finals in the 200-meter dash.

The Ohio Wesleyan distance medley relay team of sophomore Elsa Hoam (Fredericktown), senior Katelyn Stapleton (Urbana/West Liberty Salem), freshman Ella Chomic (Westerville/Columbus School for Girls), and junior McKenna Downing (Pleasant Hill/Newton Local) also won all-conference recognition with a third-place finish in 12:52.60.

Other standouts for the Bishops included freshman Niyah Shipman (North Robinson/Colonel Crawford), who was fourth in the high jump and eighth in the long jump; and junior Emily Davis (Brimfield/Mogadore Field), who finished fourth in the weight throw.

The NCAC championship meet is scheduled to conclude on Saturday.
