Junior guard Mia Guscoff (Canton/Massillon Perry) sank a pair of 3-pointers to cap a game-opening 14-5 run that started 14th/15th-ranked Ohio Wesleyan on its way to a North Coast Athletic Conference win over Hiram on Wednesday in Hiram.

Sophomore post Macy Miller (Marysville/Milford Center Fairbanks) scored twice as the Bishops took an 8-2 lead during the first 3 minutes of play, and after the Terriers closed to within 8-5, Guscoff connected from long distance twice for a 14-5 lead midway through the period.

Hiram closed to within 14-10 on a Brooke Hickman lay-in and an Anastasia Lawler 3-pointer, but fifth-year guard Kasey Schipfer (Mechanicsburg) sank a pair of free throws and a lay-in during an 8-0 burst that closed out the quarter.

The Terriers got hot from 3-point range during the second period, with Jo Janda hitting 2 of the team's 4 trifectas as Hiram closed to within 30-26 at the midway point of the quarter.

Miller had a pair of lay-ins during the final minutes of the half to help the Bishops extend the lead, and Ohio Wesleyan pulled away by opening the second half with an 18-2 run.  Schipfer scored 9 points during that run, including a pair of traditional 3-point plays, and Miller added a pair of lay-ins.

Schipfer finished with 34 points, matching a career best.  Miller finished with 24 points and a team-high 11 rebounds, and senior guard Maddie Schumacher (Tiffin/Calvert) added a career-high 10 points.  Fifth-year guard Elizabeth Homan (Cincinnati/Anderson) dished out 12 assists.
