The Ohio Wesleyan women's lacrosse team opened the scoring with a man-up goal from junior attacker Sam Frary (Concord, Calif./Clayton Valley Charter), and never stopped from there in going on to take down Franciscan 17-2 on Saturday in Steubenville, Ohio.

Four minutes after the opening goal, senior attacker Casey Conklin (Marcellus, N.Y.) sent one into the back of the net off a free-position shot.  Freshman midfielder Emma Reynolds (Delaware/Columbus Bishop Watterson) immediately followed up 49 seconds later with a goal of her own.

Franciscan's Carolyn Cooke was able to get one back, but the Bishops then went on to score 14 unanswered goals throughout the rest of the game.

Junior midfielder Tiffany Trinh (Dublin/Scioto) sent a pass to sophomore attacker Brie Colangelo (Providence, R.I./Moses Brown School), who found the back of the net on a man-up goal.  Frary and Reynolds each added another to bring the first quarter to a close.

Senior attacker Caroline Fleming (Pittsburgh, Pa./South Fayette) started the second quarter by scoring 3 goals.  Conklin and freshman attacker Jackie Harper (Henderson, Nev./Coronado) each tallied 1 to send the Bishops into the half up, 11-1.

The third quarter continued to be a Bishops scoring fest with 5 more goals.  Senior attacker-midfielder Amara Carlson (Dublin/Coffman) found the back of the net off a pass from Fleming.  Trinh added a goal before Frary scored 2 goals, one free-position and one man-up.  Conklin notched another goal as the third quarter ran down, the Bishops lead extending to 16-1.

A change of pace came in the fourth quarter, with each team scoring one goal apiece. Reynolds added the last goal for the Bishops to seal the game off.

The Bishops outshot Franciscan, 35-8, and won 13 draw controls.

Frary led with 4 goals.  Conklin, Reynolds, and Fleming each added 3.  Colangelo collected 1 goal and 3 assists.  Senior goalkeeper Abby Markowitz (Las Vegas, Nev./Somerset Academy) made 1 save in goal before splitting with sophomore goalkeeper Grace Lilly (Granville).
