Bishops' Dortmund Wins Second-Team All-America Honors

Freshman Katherine Dortmund (Westerville/Columbus St. Francis DeSales) won second-team All-America honors in the 60-meter hurdles during the first day of the NCAA Division III championship meet, hosted by Nazareth College on Friday in Rochester, N.Y.

Dortmund finished fifth in the second heat of the 60-meter hurdles in a time of :08.88 and did not advance to Saturday's final.  Dortmund finished 15th nationally in the event, receiving second-team All-America recognition.

Dortmund was tied for the No. 13 seed with a time of :08.74, turning in that time at the Ashland Jud Logan Light Giver Open on Feb. 7 and equaling that mark at the North Coast Athletic Conference championship on March 1.  At the NCAC championship meet, Dortmund won All-NCAC honors with a second-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles, won the 60-meter dash in :07.78, and led off the Bishops' league-champion 800-meter relay team on the way to receiving Sprints/Hurdles Athlete of the Year recognition.
