Junior Chinedu Melenu (Bowie, Md.) won an event to lead Ohio Wesleyan at the Denison Lid-Lifter, hosted by Denison University on Saturday in Granville.

The meet was not scored.

Melenu won the triple jump with a mark of 40-10½.

The Ohio Wesleyan 1600-meter relay team of junior Ryan Tripp (Sunbury/Big Walnut), sophomore Dylan Harper (Marysville), junior Jake Marzulli (Medina), and senior Mason Myers (Perrysville/Hillsdale) won its event in 3:24.45.

Other standouts for the Bishops included sophomore Connor Smith (Marysville), who was second in the high jump and eighth in the 400-meter dash; senior Trey Theobald (Archbold), who finished second in the javelin; Harper, who placed second in the 110-meter hurdles and eighth in the 400-meter hurdles; sophomore Michael Strange (High Bridge, N.J./Voorhees), who was third in the 400-meter hurdles and sixth in the 110-meter hurdles; junior Andrew Bentz (Marysville), who placed third in the hammer and sixth in the shot put; senior Preston Pethtel (Heath), who finished third in the 5000-meter run; senior Coleman Kegler (Columbus/Upper Arlington), who was third in the javelin; freshman Tanner Sir Louis (Wadsworth), who tied for third in the pole vault; freshman Michael Hess (Painesville/Fairport Harding), who placed fourth in the 110-meter hurdles and sixth in the 400-meter hurdles; sophomore Joel Adade (Columbus/Beechcroft), who was fifth in the 100-meter dash; Marzulli, who finished fifth in the 800-meter run; senior Kory Kaiser (Cincinnati/West Clermont), who was fifth in the 5000-meter run; junior Joe Larkins (Cleveland/Ginn Academy), who placed sixth in the 100-meter dash; freshman Dominic Brown (Marysville), who was sixth in the javelin; sophomore Alex Stoller (Waverly), who finished seventh in the 400-meter dash; senior Trey Good (Marysville/Milford Center Fairbanks), who was seventh in the javelin; senior Logan McSwords (Marysville), who placed eighth in the high jump and the javelin; senior Simon Leck (Toledo/St. Francis DeSales), who was eighth in the 1500-meter run; and freshman Justin Gneiting (Westerville/Big Walnut), who placed eighth in the 110-meter hurdles.

The Bishop 400-meter relay team of Adade, Smith, Tripp, and Larkins finished third.
