Ohio Wesleyan 16, Transylvania 6

Junior attacker Sam Frary (Concord, Calif./Clayton Valley Charter) scored to break a 3-3 tie and put Ohio Wesleyan ahead to stay, and the Bishops pulled away for a non-conference win over Transylvania on Saturday in Lexington, Ky.

Transylvania had tied the game at 3 on a goal by Diana Bruder early in the second period, but Frary answered with a goal just 17 seconds later to give Ohio Wesleyan the lead for good.  Senior attacker Caroline Fleming (Pittsburgh, Pa./West Fayette) followed with back-to-back goals to increase the Bishop lead to 6-3.

The Pioneers closed to the 6-5 on scores by Lula Thompson and TaNya Barbee, but Ohio Wesleyan answered by scoring the next 5 goals, with sophomore attacker Brie Colangelo (Providence, R.I./Moses Brown School) tallying twice during that run.  Fleming scored twice as the Bishops closed out the game with a 5-0 run.

Fleming led the Bishops with 6 goals, while Colangelo finished with 4.  Senior Abby Markowitz (Las Vegas, Nev./Somerset Academy) stopped 5 shots in the Bishop crease.
