Otterbein 11, Ohio Wesleyan 3

Junior first baseman Alex Snyder (Massillon/Jackson) doubled in a run to put Ohio Wesleyan on the scoreboard, but Otterbein defeated the Bishops in a non-conference contest on Tuesday at Littick Field.

The Cardinals took the lead in the second inning when Stevie Monokandilos reached on a one-out single, moved to second on a sacrifice by Caleb Bond, took third as Daniel Uhl reached on an error by senior shortstop Noah Brazytis (Euclid/Cleveland St. Ignatius), and scored on the front end of a double steal.

Otterbein made it 3-0 in the third as Jamie Perebzak led off with a walk and Logan Ullom doubled before the runners scored on back-to-back sacrifice flies.

The Bishops answered with a run in the bottom of the inning when senior outfielder Sammy Stoner (Dublin/Jerome) reached on a one-out single single, junior outfielder Colton Moone (South Vienna/Northeastern) followed with a single, and Snyder ripped a double down the leftfield line.

The Cardinals broke the game open with 7 runs in the top of the eighth, and junior catcher Carter Vilevac (Sheffield Village/Brookside) singled home a pair of runs in the bottom of the ninth.

Stoner was 2-for-4 for Ohio Wesleyan.  Senior righthander Josh Ferreira (Raynham, Mass./Portsmouth Abbey (R.I)) was the starting and losing pitcher for the Bishops.
