Ohio Wesleyan University fifth-year guard Kasey Schipfer (Mechanicsburg), sophomore post Macy Miller (Marysville/Milford Center Fairbanks), and the Battling Bishop coaching staff received special awards as part of the All-North Coast Athletic Conference women's basketball teams, it was announced today by the NCAC.

Schipfer was named NCAC Player of the Year and was a first-team All-NCAC choice.

Miller was named the league's Top Defensive Player and was a first-team All-NCAC selection.

Fifth-year point guard Elizabeth Homan (Cincinnati/Anderson) received second-team All-NCAC recognition.

Schipfer leads the NCAC in scoring (19.5 points/game) and ranks seventh in rebounding (6.3/game), sixth in free throw percentage (.777), and third in field goal percentage (.549).  Schipfer is the first women's basketball player in NCAC history to be selected NCAC Player of the Year 3 times.  Schipfer was the NCAC Player of the Year and a first-team All-NCAC selection in 2023-24; was the NCAC Player of the Year, the NCAC's Top Defensive Player, and a first-team all-conference selection in 2022-23; and was a second-team All-NCAC selection in 2021-22.

Miller ranks fourth in the NCAC in scoring (16.2 points/game) and second in rebounding (8.8/game), leads the league in steals (2.9/game), and ranks third in blocked shots (1.2/game) and seventh in steals (2.2/game) and field goal percentage (.497).  Miller is the third Ohio Wesleyan player in a row to garner Top Defensive Player honors, following Schipfer in 2022-23 and Homan last year.

Homan leads the NCAC in assists (7.5/game) and assist/turnover ratio (2.7) and ranks third in steals (2.7/game), is tied for 11th in 3-point field goals (1.4/game), and ranks 25th in scoring (8.0 points/game).  Homan was the league's Top Defensive Player in 2023-24 and was a second-team all-conference selection for the third consecutive season.

The Ohio Wesleyan coaching staff of head coach Stacey Ungashick Lobdell and assistants Susan Smith and Dan Lobdell was named Coaching Staff of the Year.  This is the second time that Ungashick Lobdell has been honored by NCAC coaches, following a selection in 2013-14.

Ohio Wesleyan is 23-3 on the season.  The Battling Bishops won the NCAC championship with a 14-0 record, finishing a conference schedule unbeaten for the first time, then were sidelined during the semifinals of the NCAC tournament.  Ohio Wesleyan will compete in a first-round game of the NCAA Division III tournament against Immaculata (Pa.) at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
