Senior outfielder Sammy Stoner (Dublin/Jerome) singled in a pair of runs to bring Ohio Wesleyan within 7-6, but Mount St. Joseph scored the next 13 runs to pull away for a non-conference won on Thursday at Littick Field.

The Lions took an early 3-0 lead when Anton Mere led off the game with a walk and Jordan Harley and Andrew Harrison followed with back-to-back homers.

Ohio Wesleyan got 2 runs back in the bottom of the inning on a 2-run single by junior catcher Carter Vilevac (Sheffield Village/Brookside), but MSJ scored an unearned run in the second and added 3 more runs in the third.

The Bishops closed to within 7-6 in the third, opening the inning with walks to junior outfielder Matt Spencer (Hilliard/Darby), Vilevac, and fifth-year first baseman Mason Timko (Pittsburgh, Pa./West Allegheny) before a single by junior outfielder Colton Moone (South Vienna/Northeastern) and a bases-loaded walk to sophomore shortstop Josh Bercaw (Powell/Olentangy Liberty) forced in runs and Stoner followed with a 2-run single.

MSJ got home runs from Jake Sanders and Tyler Herbers during a 4-run fourth frame, and broke the game open with 8 runs in the fifth, with the help of a 2-run single by Sean Moore and 2-run doubles by Austin Buckle and Mere.

Stoner was 2-for-2 with 2 RBI for the Bishops.
