Fifth-year third baseman Alyssa Back (Newark) delivered a walk-off, bases-clearing triple and senior righthander Kaelyn Rodriguez (South El Monte, Calif.) recorded wins in both games as Ohio Wesleyan swept a North Coast Athletic Conference doubleheader from Oberlin on Saturday at Margaret Sagan Field.

Aggressive baserunning helped the Yeowomen take a 2-0 lead in the first inning of the opener.  Hailey Alspach led off with a walk, stole second, stole third, and scored on a throwing error by senior catcher Avery Panozzo (Denver, Colo./Mullen) on the play.  Two outs later, a Kailey Dunham double and an Alexis Croatt single gave the visitors a 2-0 lead.

Freshman shortstop Caity Journey (Nashport/Dresden Tri-Valley) knocked in a run to bring the Bishops within 2-1 in the second.

Ohio Wesleyan took advantage of 5 Yeowomen errors to push across 5 runs in the fourth, and the Bishops loaded the bases in the bottom of the fifth on a walk to junior infielder Kelsey Shiley (Fostoria/Tiffin Calvert) and singles by senior second baseman McKenna Tuttle (Richmond, Ky./Model Laboratory School) and Journey.
Sophomore outfielder Chameron Vanden Eynden (Goshen) followed with a grounder to short, but Shiley was safe at home on the play to make it 7-2.  Back followed with a drive down the rightfield line that eluded a dive by Oberlin rightfielder Jess Friedman, and all 3 baserunners scored to end the game.

Tuttle was 2-for-2 for Ohio Wesleyan.  Rodriguez, who came on in relief in the first inning, blanked the Yeowomen on 1 hit over the final 4.1 innings to record the win.

In the nightcap, the Bishops took an early lead with a 2-run single by senior first baseman Sophie Leohner (Upper Arlington) in the first inning.  Panozzo smashed a bases-clearing double to highlight a 6-run second, and freshman infielder Savannah Branham (Thousand Oaks, Calif./Westlake) had a 2-run single during a 3-run fourth frame that made it 11-0.

Meanwhile, Rodriguez was in command, shutting out Oberlin on 4 hits over the first 4.0 innings to collect the win.  Sophomore outfielder Rylea Gist (Delaware/Hayes) and Leohner each went 3-for-3 for the Bishops
