Sophomore righthander Shelby Morris (Centerburg) fired a 6-hit shutout to help Ohio Wesleyan to a win over Wooster in the nightcap of a North Coast Athletic Conference doubleheader on Wednesday in Wooster.

In the opener, the Fighting Scots scored the winning run on a bases-loaded walk in the bottom of the ninth inning to take a win.

Ohio Wesleyan took a 2-0 lead in the second inning of the nightcap with the help of an RBI ground out by senior second baseman McKenna Tuttle (Richmond, Ky./Model Laboratory School), then got a 2-run single from junior infielder Kelsey Shiley (Fostoria/Tiffin Calvert) in the third, an RBI single from sophomore outfielder Rylea Gist (Delaware/Hayes) during a 2-run fifth, and a bases-loaded walk by sophomore outfielder Chameron Vanden Eynden (Goshen) and a sacrifice fly by senior catcher Avery Panozzo (Denver, Colo./Mullen) in the sixth.

Meanwhile, Morris held the Scots off the scoreboard, stranding 2 runners in the first and third innings and leaving the bases loaded in the fourth.

Vanden Eynden and freshman shortstop Caity Journey (Nashport/Dresden Tri-Valley) each went 2-for-3 for the Bishops.

In the opener, first-inning singles by Vanden Eynden, Panozzo, Gist, and Morris put the Bishops on the scoreboard, but Wooster got 2 runs in the bottom of the inning on a run-scoring single by Cate Barkdoll and a steal of home by Emma Hetkey.

The Bishops tied the game in the third on another RBI single by Morris.  Ohio Wesleyan got its leadoff hitter on base in the fourth, sixth, and seventh innings but was not able to push across the go-ahead run.

Wooster loaded the bases in the bottom of the ninth on singles by Lynnsey Delio, Hetkey, and Julia Jennings before Barkdoll drew a 2-out walk to force home the winning run.

Gist was 3-for-4 and Journey went 2-for-3 for Ohio Wesleyan
