Senior attacker Caroline Fleming (Pittsburgh, Pa./West Fayette) scored to put Ohio Wesleyan ahead to stay and surpassed a career milestone, and junior defender Abbie Grogan (Louisville, Ky./Kentucky Country Day) reached a pair of career marks as Ohio Wesleyan recorded its first North Coast Athletic Conference victory of the season with a win over Wittenberg on Wednesday at Selby Stadium.

Junior attacker Sam Frary (Concord, Calif./Clayton Valley Charter) got the Bishops on the board less than 2 minutes into the game but the Tigers' Maren Raymond got one back just as quick.  The Tigers took the lead with a goal from Hannah Peterson but that was the last they saw of the goal.

Junior midfielder Tiffany Trinh (Dublin/Scioto) tied the game on a free-position shot, Fleming scored unassisted to give the Bishops the lead, and Frary added 2 more goals before the end of the quarter along with one by sophomore midfielder Isabel Milner (Riverton, Utah) with an assist from sophomore attacker Brie Colangelo (Providence, R.I./Moses Brown School).

The second quarter went scoreless but the Bishops came out strong in the third, scoring 5 unanswered goals.  Frary tallied the first one with 6 minutes left.  Milner added back-to-back goals over a minute later.  Fleming rounded out the scoring with 2 goals of her own in under two minutes, making the score 12-2.

Colangelo found the back of the net off a free position shot to start the final 15 minutes of play.  Senior attacker Amara Carlson (Dublin/Coffman) was able to notch the next goal, with Colangelo adding an assist.  Senior attacker Casey Conklin (Marcellus, N.Y.) found the back of the net and then Milner added another goal.

Frary and Milner led the Bishops with 4 goals each.

Fleming finished with 3 goals and an assist, raising her career total to 201 points and making Fleming the fourth Ohio Wesleyan women's lacrosse player to surpass the 200-point mark.

Grogan caused 5 turnovers and collected 4 draw controls and 4 ground balls on the evening.  The 4 draw controls raised her career total to 192, surpassing the Ohio Wesleyan career mark (2007-) of 189 set by Theresa Wolfgang from 2011-14.  The 4 ground balls raised Grogan's career total to 155, equaling the career mark (2007-) set by Eilee Foley from 2012-15.

Senior Abby Markowitz (Las Vegas, Nev./Somerset Academy) was credited with 10 saves.
