Ohio Wesleyan 19, Oberlin 12

Senior attacker Carson Geier (Milford) had 2 goals during an early 6-1 run that put Ohio Wesleyan ahead to stay, and the Bishops went on to a North Coast Athletic Conference win over Oberlin on Saturday at Selby Stadium.

After Geier set up junior attacker Will Siegenthaler (Elmhurst, Ill./York) on a man-up goal to open the day's scoring, the Yeomen answered with a pair of goals less than a minute apart to take a 2-1 lead.

Ohio Wesleyan evened the game midway through the first quarter when junior defenseman Trey Weber (Castle Pines, Colo./Rock Canyon) spotted Oberlin keeper Joe Barocas away from the crease and launched a 50-yard shot into the open goal.

Goals by Geier and senior midfielder Joey Wiseman (Powell/Olentangy Liberty) followed before the Bishops opened the second quarter with scores from sophomore midfielder Henry Pinamonti (Chanhassen, Minn.),
Geier, and senior midfielder Christian Wolter (New Canaan, Conn.).

Oberlin closed to within 10-8 as Jacob Starcke and Solomon Brennan each scored twice during a run that spanned the second and third quarters, but Ohio Wesleyan finished off the third period with a 5-0 burst that included 3 scores from junior midfielder Garrett Smith (Fishers, Ind./Hamilton Southeastern).

The Yeomen scored goals just 6 seconds apart to kick off the fourth period and pull within 15-10, but that was as close as the visitors would come.

Siegenthaler led the Bishops with 4 goals and an assist, while Smith finished with 4 goals.  Senior Nathan George (Gainesville, Va./Battlefield) recorded 9 saves
