John Carroll 5, Ohio Wesleyan 4

Senior shortstop Noah Brazytis (Euclid/Cleveland St. Ignatius) knocked in a run that gave Ohio Wesleyan a 4-2 lead, but John Carroll rallied for a non-conference win on Tuesday in University Heights.

Sophomore third baseman Luke Johnson (Cincinnati/Batavia West Clermont) singled and scored in the third to break a 1-1 tie, then scored on a single by junior outfielder Matt Spencer (Hilliard/Darby) in the fourth.

The Blue Streaks closed to within 3-2 in the bottom of the fourth, but senior second baseman Ryan Duckworth (Hilliard/Bradley) led off the top of the fifth with a single and eventually scored on a sacrifice by Brazytis to make it 4-2.

John Carroll evened the game on Carson Balfour's 2-run double in the eighth, and the hosts took the win in the 11th as Michael Persichetti led off with a walk and moved to second on a sacrifice.  After a walk to Jordan Suvak, the runners moved to second and third on an infield out and Sean Connolly singled in Persichetti to end the game.

Spencer was 3-for-5 for Ohio Wesleyan.  Senior righthander Joe Liss (Evanston, Ill./Evanston Township) was the losing pitcher in relief.
