Box Score
Earlham 7, Ohio Wesleyan 6

Junior outfielder Matt Spencer (Hilliard/Darby) singled in 2 runs as Ohio Wesleyan raced to a 6-0 first-inning lead, but Earlham rallied for a non-conference win on Wednesday in Richmond, Ind.

The Bishops had their first 7 hitters of the game reach base, getting singles from senior outfielder Sammy Stoner (Dublin/Jerome), sophomore third baseman Luke Johnson (Cincinnati/Batavia West Clermont), junior first baseman Alex Snyder (Massillon/Jackson), and Spencer, with the last hit plating 2 runs.  Walks to senior first baseman Zane Vitense (Maple Grove, Minn.), senior second baseman Ryan Duckworth (Hilliard/Bradley), and junior outfielder Jack Bates (Westerville/South) followed before a sacrifice fly by sophomore shortstop Josh Bercaw (Powell/Olentangy Liberty) plated a run and Duckworth scored on a Quaker error to make it 6-0.

From there, the Quakers blanked the Bishops on 2 hits over the final 8-plus innings.  Johnson singled with 2 out in the fourth and stole second but was stranded there, and Stoner was hit by a pitch to lead off the seventh and stole second but was stranded at third.

Meanwhile, Earlham closed to within 6-2 as Reece Zonts led off the fourth with a double and Noah Wagster followed with a single, with the runners scoring on sacrifice flies by Mitchell Roether and Noah Rosato.  The Quakers made it 6-4 in the eighth on run-scoring doubles from Zonts and Rosato.

In the bottom of the ninth, Tucker Williams was hit by a pitch to open the inning and Drew Sale followed with a single.  One out later, a walk to Jonathan Jimenez filled the sacks before Zonts doubled up the middle to tie the game.  Wagster followed with a single to center to plate Jimenez with the winning run.

Johnson was 2-for-5 for Ohio Wesleyan.  Junior righthander Hank Holman (Twinsburg) was the losing pitcher in relief.
