The Ohio Wesleyan women's lacrosse team started out fast, scoring 10 straight goals and going on to a 16-6 win over the Oberlin Yeowomen on Wednesday at Selby Stadium.

Junior midfielder Tiffany Trinh (Dublin/Scioto) found the back of the net a minute into the game off an assist by senior attacker Caroline Fleming (Pittsburgh, Pa./West Fayette).  Thirty seconds later, Fleming scored her first goal right in front of the net.  Freshman midfielder Emma Reynolds (Delaware/Columbus Bishop Watterson) added a third for the Bishops just 3 minutes into the game.  Fleming tallied a second before senior attacker Casey Conklin (Marcellus, N.Y.) hit back-to-back goals to send the Bishops up, 6-0, in just over 6 minutes.

Ohio Wesleyan continued to rack up the score with junior attacker Sam Frary (Concord, Calif./Clayton Valley Charter) and Conklin both adding goals to bring the first quarter to an end.  Goals from Trinh and Frary pushed the Bishops into double digits, making the score 10-0.

Oberlin's Kylie Thompson received a pass in front of goal from Larissa Andrick, putting them on the board as she found the back of the net.  The Bishops immediately responded with consecutive goals from sophomore attacker Brie Colangelo (Providence, R.I./Moses Brown School), Trinh, and 3 from Frary.  Oberlin got one more back from Maddie Darlington to take them into the half, with the Bishops leading 14-2.

Oberlin battled back in the second half, scoring 4 goals, 3 of them coming from Thompson.  Senior midfielder Lindsay Wolverton (Delaware/Hayes) and Fleming tallied the only goals of the second half for the Bishops.

The Bishops outshot the Yeowomen 31-16.

Frary led the scoring with 4 goals and an assist. Fleming, Conklin, and Trinh both added 3 goals and an assist.

Colangelo finished with a goal and 3 assists.  The 4 points raised Colangelo's season total to 77, breaking the Ohio Wesleyan record of 76 set by Jessica Copeland in 2010.

Junior defender Abbie Grogan (Louisville, Ky./Kentucky Country Day) had 8 draw controls on the day, raising her season total to 96 and breaking the Ohio Wesleyan record of 94 Grogan set last year.

Senior Abby Markowitz (Las Vegas, Nev./Somerset Academy) made 6 saves in goal.
