Freshman Justin Gneiting (Westerville/Big Walnut), senior Coleman Kegler (Columbus/Upper Arlington), and junior Chinedu Melenu (Bowie, Md.) won events for Ohio Wesleyan at the Big Red Invitational, hosted by Denison University on Friday in Granville.

The meet was not scored.

Gneiting won the 110-meter hurdles in :16.65 and added a third-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles.

Kegler won the javelin with a throw of 159-2.

Melenu won the triple jump with a performance of 39-6¾ and finished fifth in the 400-meter hurdles.

Other standouts for the Bishops included junior Ryan Tripp (Sunbury/Big Walnut), who placed second in the 400-meter dash; freshman Jacob Blubaugh (Columbus/Bishop Ready), who was second in the 1500-meter run; junior Andrew Bentz (Marysville), who finished second in the discus; senior Logan McSwords (Marysville), who placed third in the javelin; senior Mason Myers (Perrysville/Hillsdale), who finished fifth in the long jump; junior Jake Marzulli (Medina), who was fifth in the 800-meter run; senior Simon Leck (Toledo/St. Francis DeSales), who placed fifth in the 1500-meter run; and junior Griffin Sawyer (Rocky River), who finished fifth in the pole vault.
