Sophomore attacker Wade Beckstrom (Devon, Pa./Conestoga), sophomore midfielder Henry Ross (Snoqualmie, Wash./Mount Si), and junior attacker Will Siegenthaler (Elmhurst, Ill./York) scored 2 goals apiece as 20th-ranked Ohio Wesleyan closed the game with a 9-1 run on the way to a win over 19th-ranked Denison in the championship game of the North Coast Athletic Conference tournament on Saturday at Selby Stadium.

With the win, Ohio Wesleyan receives the NCAC's automatic qualifier for the NCAA Division III tournament.

Denison led, 4-3, early in the second quarter when the Big Red pulled away with a 5-1 run that saw Jack Moellering and Macky Peck contribute a goal and an assist apiece.

The Bishops closed to within 9-6 as Beckstrom and senior midfielder Brady Hunt (Maineville/Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy) tallied goals during the closing minutes of the first half.

Siegenthaler opened the second half with back-to-back scores, and Ross rang up a goal midway through the period to even the score at 9.

Senior midfielder Garrett Smith (Fishers, Ind./Hamilton Southeastern) put the Bishops ahead to stay with a goal during the opening minute of the fourth period, and Beckstrom and senior midfielder Joey Wiseman (Powell/Olentangy Liberty) followed with goals for a 12-9 Ohio Wesleyan lead midway through the quarter.

Tommy Quinson scored with 4:02 left in regulation time, breaking Denison's scoring drought of nearly 30 minutes and bringing the Big Red within 12-10, but the Bishops got that goal back when Ross scored with 3:08 to play.

Ross led the Bishops with 3 goals and 2 assists.  Hunt finished with 3 goals.  Senior Nathan George (Gainesville, Va./Battlefield) made saves, including 3 during the fourth quarter.

George was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player.  He was joined on the all-tournament team by junior midfielder Noah Citek (Long Beach, Calif./St. John Bosco), Hunt, Ross, and senior defenseman Wes Silver (Newton, Mass./Newton North).
