Davis, Dietz, Jolliff Win Titles, Bishops Third at NCAC Meet

Junior Emily Davis (Brimfield/Mogadore Field), sophomore Allison Dietz (Newark), and junior Hazel Jolliff (Cardington/Cardington-Lincoln) won North Coast Athletic Conference titles in leading Ohio Wesleyan during the second day of the NCAC championship meet, hosted by DePauw University on Saturday in Greencastle, Ind.

DePauw won the meet with 235 points to 171 for Wittenberg.  Ohio Wesleyan finished in third place with 125 points, followed by Denison (77½), Kenyon (72), Wooster (69), Hiram (39), and Oberlin (28½).

Davis won the discus with a throw of 129-7.  It was the second conference championship in the discus for Davis, who previously won the event in 2023.

Dietz won the 5000-meter run in 18:04.08 and added a sixth-place finish in the 1500-meter run.

Jolliff won the javelin with a throw of 128-2.  It was the third straight NCAC title in the javelin for Jolliff.

The Ohio Wesleyan 400-meter relay team of freshman Katherine Dortmund (Westerville/Columbus St. Francis DeSales), freshman Kennedy Elfers (Powell/Olentangy Liberty), sophomore Amarah McPhaul (Muncie, Ind./Daleville), and freshman Aelyn Baumbarger (Marysville) not only won all-conference honors with a second-place finish, but clocked a :47.32 to break the school record of :47.66 set by Amanda Clay, Megan Sievers, Emily Brown, and Jaliyah Atkinson in 2018.

All-NCAC recognition also went to sophomore Brianna Montgomery (Gibsonburg), who finished second in the 800-meter run and added a fifth-place finish in the 1500-meter run; and Dortmund, who was third in the 100-meter hurdles and added eighth-place finishes in the 100- and 200-meter dashes.

Other standouts for the Bishops included Baumbarger, who placed fourth in the 100-meter dash and sixth in the 200-meter dash; sophomore Sophie Cotts (Granville), who was fourth in the 5000-meter run; senior Aliisa James (Miamisburg/Dayton Christian), who finished fifth in the 400-meter hurdles; Elfers, who placed fifth in the 200-meter dash; freshman Jera Hoy (Radnor/Buckeye Valley), who finished fifth in the discus; sophomore Alexis Eusey (Marengo/Highland), who was fifth in the javelin; junior McKenna Downing (Pleasant Hill/Newton Local), who placed seventh in the 800-meter run; and junior Emma Hall (Ironton), who was seventh in the discus.

The Ohio Wesleyan 1600-meter relay team of James, Elfers, senior Katelyn Stapleton (Urbana/West Liberty-Salem), and Montgomery finished seventh.
